Free Tourist Activities!
- Take the A or C Train to High Street (the first stop in Brooklyn). Walk onto the Brooklyn Bridge and walk to Manhattan and see the amazing view (and hundreds of New Yorkers). In Manhattan continue on to Chinatown and Little Italy. Catch the Feast of San Gennaro in Little Italy.
- Take the No. 1 train to South Ferry or the W or R train to Whitehall Street, and get on the Staten Island Ferry. You’ll go right by the Statue of Liberty and see the view of Manhattan. On Staten Island, just get on the ferry back to Manhattan–all free.
- Take a walk on the High Line. Nearby are the Whitney Museum, massive elephant sculptures (called the “Great Migration”) on the street in the Meatpacking district, and tour the shops in that District.
